From the inception of C4 Atlanta, it has been our goal to provide services that foster collaboration and innovation within our creative community. C4 Atlanta is developing a concept that will begin to take form this June. It will start out like any living organism: small. The goal is to put in design functionality that will scale quickly over the next year. What am I talking about? ArtsForce.
- ArtsForce – Connecting arts organizations and artists together through a dynamic web/mobile application. Atlanta’s resource for jobs in the arts, artistic opportunities, collaboration and more.
Managing Expectations
To reiterate: this project will begin small and use an agile development process. It may, in the beginning, look like jobs, trainings, and opportunity boards you have seen in the past (although, ArtsForce will be for the entire Atlanta arts community).
But the future of ArtsForce is much more ambitious. Imagine the geo-location functionality of a product like Yelp, meets the job building functionality of Monster.com, meets the resource sharing of Freecycle. Real time connections by location, discipline, skills, training desired, resource sharing, etc. And it will be developed with you in mind.
What to Expect Next
A team of volunteer tech-slash-artists have begun to help us put together a technology road-map for ArtsForce. A special thanks to Michael Ivey, Nikki & Thomas Strickland, Brandon Sheats, and Lyre Calliope.
We will also be engaging you! We will be contacting C4 Atlanta members to gather valuable, confidential feedback to help guide this process.
- We will release a simple version this summer
- We will hold user feedback groups
- We will release the next version
- We will gather user feedback
- You get the idea!
Your input is essential to the success of ArtsForce. We think you will be very proud of ArtsForce as it begins to take shape over the next year. No other city offers a service like this for its arts community. Our colleagues in other cities are very excited to see how this process evolves.
